How is this different from a frameless glass railing?
In a framed system the aluminum carries the structural load, so the glass can be thinner and the cost per foot is lower. Frameless systems make the glass itself structural, which looks cleaner but costs more.
Will the finish fade or corrode outside?
Aluminum does not rust, and powder coating is designed for exterior exposure. It is the reason we specify it over painted steel on the coast.
Does the railing have to meet building code?
Yes. Guard height and loading are set by code and depend on the drop below and the use of the space. We measure and specify to the requirement for your situation, we do not fit a railing that does not meet it.
Can you replace just the glass in an existing frame?
Often yes, if the frame is sound and the profile is one we can source glass for. We check that on site before quoting.
