Indoor glass railing does something a solid balustrade cannot: it makes a staircase or a landing disappear. The guard is still there and still meets code, but the sightline through the house stays open all the way across.

Does an interior railing have to meet code?
Yes, guard height and loading apply indoors just as they do outside, and they depend on the drop. We measure and specify to the requirement for your stair.
Do I need a handrail as well as the glass?
It depends on the stair and the code requirement for it. We check that at the survey and tell you before quoting, so there are no surprises at inspection.
Won't it show fingerprints?
Some, particularly at hand height on a stair. A glass cleaner and a microfibre cloth handles it, and many owners add a top cap or handrail where hands naturally land.
Standoffs, base shoe or posts, which?
Standoffs are the most minimal, base shoe is the cleanest continuous line, posts are the most forgiving structurally. We recommend after seeing your stair construction.
